1. Every student learns differently

Many language schools have their own method that they use for each learner. I have also tried to actively use these methods in my lessons. I realized then that every student learns differently. There are people who learn great with visual aids, meaning they need a board to write on and pictures to look at. Others need auditive aids to learn a language. With those, you need a CD-Player and communication, meaning speaking and repeating is a vital point. Then there are students who learn best by using only the target language. Others need English as a metalanguage for grammar structures or translations.

It is not possible to decide on a method and then stick with it, no matter which kind of student you teach. That is why I am convinced, that you have to adapt your method to the student. In the first lesson, I will evaluate the students needs and how he thinks he'll learn best. I'll ask him/ her, what he/she wants and I take it seriously, because a lerning success is only possible, if the students are allowed to learn how they learn best.
